This is the first page of our reorganization, Virtual Bookbinding will now have its own site and renamed Virtual Bookbindings which is a bit more fitting. From this new page you will still be able to access the old pages, which continue to be maintained at Cyclopaedia.org. As we progress with the developement of the new Virtual Bookbindings site, we will slowly migrate and improve the old pages, while all new work will be found here. I have had a long spell away from this work, and getting back into it is quite a shock. The information at Virtual Bookbinding has been online for several years and still I discover that the French Bibliotheque National have yet to recognize any of this work and continue to ignore the importance of the Dubuisson workshops, still accrediting Dubuisson bindings to Padeloup or Derome le jeune. In their sad catalogue of Dubuisson bindings they show only two examples, and these are plaques. This points out how meager their knowledge is of their own and most important binders. Those in charge appear to be still mired in the errors of the 20th century. This is reason enough for me to return to this highly important work. If nothing else, I want to wake up these supposed experts to the terrible mistakes they are promoting as some sort of well informed expertise.

A word of Caution

Even experts are sometimes wrong, before you spend thousands on a book, please do your own research! Just because I say a certain binding can be attributed to le Maitre isn't any kind of guarantee, don't take my word for it, go a step further and get your own proof. In these pages I have provided you with a way of doing just that.
